Flourishing Economy in Pueblo, Colorado

Thirty-some years ago, the people of Pueblo decided they had to reinvent themselves if they were going to overcome the difficulties left by the steel industry crash and recession. Everybody felt empowered by the economic downturn and so together went looking for new industries and investors. The changes emerged very soon with a massive urban revitalization effort, rapid transformations in the downtown area everything started coming back to life. The new standard for the economy was to go green. An internationally recognized wind tower manufacturer decided to open its doors in 2010. The old steel mill Pueblo had, was transformed into the biggest recycler in all of Colorado, using scraps of steel as its raw material.

Nearly 100,000 people visit Pueblo during the annual Chile and Frijoles Festival which highlights delicious Mexican food dishes. Some of the best farmlands in all of Colorado can be also found in Pueblo, and nowadays you can enjoy the amazing products sold in the three farmer markets Pueblo has. Of course, everyone wanted a little piece of this new economic boom, and that is why so many small businesses are thriving, some of them are even internationally known. And even arts have made an incredible appearance, well, arts and culture go hand in hand and in pueblo, there is no lack of any. As an example of this, old structures attract visitors thanks to being transformed into museum-like facilities. There is no doubt Pueblo has resurfaced and its showing signs of an incredible economic recovery.
